I love this work. There is something riveting about tattoos. The contrast between the sweeping coloured lines and the bare beautiful skin. Its marvelous work. So why does someone attach an artist’s statement to these work? It makes the artist look like they are full of shit. Its like the questionaires companies like to ask their employees once a year. Where do you see yourself in five years?

The art/culture industry is filled with pretentions. One of my university professors used to call it Grade B Philosophy. But it seems built into art courses at college. Its not enough that you have to create art. You have to create the artist.

Check it out yourself. Go to a gallery sight and read the artist’s statement and tell me they don’t make you cringe.

I like these collages a lot. They have a painterly quality about them that is very appealing. (You know, they could be paintings. Never thought of that.) Mr. Krum is a rather odd fellow which you will see if you visit his sight at  http://www.odysseuskrum.com/
