Matt Wisniewski

Matt Wisniewski has done a couple of interesting things with his collages. He has eliminated the background. For 2 images. For the portrait he has in some circumstances taken an action shot. Then he has taken a second image an overlaid it on the first. And once again taking away any of the background that would interfere with the power of the initial impression. It has give his work a very surreal affect. His timing is impeccable. And I’m not sure what the word ‘timing’ means in this context. But it seems right.

Dark images from my new page at iAMaGALLERY. There is a new movie coming out from Ridley Scott. With equally dark images. It is called Prometheus.

Diana Melfi

Perhaps these pics are another version of the black velvet paintings. But I’m feeling nostalgic. And I recall all these neon posters in friend’s rooms. During college. That almost glowed in the dark. And of course were drug related. The girls in these pics do seem to vibrate the colours around them. Remind me of one particular girl. Whose skin was as dark as oak marble. And whose teeth shone like snow.

I don’t know if Diana Melfi is particularly talented. But these do grab your attention.
